Setting Levels For Field Recording

One question I’ve been getting more lately is about how and what are the best levels to set your gain for field recordings?

This is a question I don’t have a clear answer which I’ll explain why in this video. With recording sounds full-time the past few years, I’ll share with you my experience and what I have learned.

Setting appropriate levels for your field recordings depends on several factors like the recorder, microphone, gear, environment, and what the sounds will be used for!
