‘Flaws’ breaks with the classic album structure and consists of four long-form sonic hikes with around 24 minutes each – one track per side of a tape. They are meant to freeze time, let our minds wander, and help to refocus.

These compositions were recorded after the passing of our beloved pet bunny last September. They were a way of pouring my emotions into something honest, fragile, and vast.

Recorded and mixed in Paris (September 2020 – June 2021) – Altered tape loops, synthesizer, guitar and field recording.

Seil Records just released Fremder by Ambalek, ‘Fremder‘ is about finding escape and solace in suburban sylvan spaces. Available digitally and in a limited cassette edition.
Made with hand-played electronic instruments: Ciat Lonbarde Deerhorn, Cocoquantus, Plumbutter, digital piano (sampled via microphone), eurorack, Novation Peak, and Elektron Digitone. Where necessary loops were made either with cassette tapes or Gauss Field Looper.

So every quarter Morimoto donates 10% of his label earnings to support a small non-profit organization, as their even humble amounts can make a real difference. These are organizations in the fields of helping the environment, fighting racism, or providing music education to underprivileged groups. Morimoto lets you know every quarter to which charity our donation went and helps spread the word about their work on their social media channels.
