Church Bell Sound Effects
This new sound library contains new church bell recordings from Malta. This time I was able to record these sound effects for 15 minutes at noon, just below the bells in two bell towers. The church bells played Ave Maria.
It was another incredible moment to stand on the roof of one of the most famous and beautiful churches in Malta.
The church is also called “Our Lady of Grace” (Maltese Language: Knisja Arċipretali u Santwarju tal-Madonna tal-Grazzja) and is a Roman Catholic church that was built between 1641 and 1696.
(Inside joke: Maybe Stuttgart 21 needs just as much time :))
About the recordings
I put the Zoom F6 and the Cinela Albert under the bells of the left tower. I also attached a contact microphone to the metal bars. If you use these recordings with a reverb plugin, it sounds really good.
I placed the Zoom H8 under the right tower, but it was accidentally recorded at 44.1 kHz and 24 bit. If you accidentally click “Podcast” and return to “Field Recording” on the recorder, the recording format will automatically change to the lowest. I know it sucks :(…
It still sounds good, but if you have an H8 please keep an eye on it.
Today I recorded more church bells and cannon fire so be prepared for more sound library very soon 🙂
