RootOne Multi band Subharmonics Generator Shaper for Complete Low end Control

RootOne – Multi-Effect by Leapwing Audio

Don’t compromise on your low-end. RootOne (Affiliate Link) is designed from the ground up as a new way to generate and shape subharmonic frequencies. Traditional subharmonics generators use a band-passed pitch-shifted signal, resulting in a sense of detachment from the original sound. The developer of RootOne wanted to acquire a new approach for generating low frequencies, and Leapwing created their own analysis-synthesis algorithm, which allows users to generate the cleanest subharmonics possible, phase-aligned with the original sound.

RootOne - Multi-band Subharmonics Generator & Shaper for Complete Low-end Control 36

Leapwing set out to create the cleanest low-end possible, phase-aligned with the original, making the result sound like it comes from one source. RootOne comes with 3 low-frequency bands at custom crossover frequencies. Each band will look for a frequency an octave above the selected band, and after carefully analysing amplitude and phase, it then generates a clean sound within that band.

RootOne Features

  • Unique Subharmonics Generator: Proprietary algorithm that generates the cleanest low frequencies.
  • Pitch Follower and Phase Alignment: Instead of simply pitch-shifting the signal, Leapwing use advanced analytics to generate subharmonics that are phase-aligned with the source.
  • Full Harmonics Shaping: The saturation module allows you to shape those midrange harmonics, allowing them to cut through on smaller speakers.
  • Ultimate dynamics, drive, and decay control: Immense control to shape your newly generated subharmonics.
  • Simple yet Beautiful Design: Beautiful resizable Retina interface with unique design, focused on the optimal workflow.

Phase Aligned Subharmonics Generator

Traditional subharmonics generators use a band-passed pitch-shifted signal, which often results in a disconnection from the original sound. Leapwing therefore opted to develop their own pitch & phase tracking algorithm and combined that with a clean signal generator.

Full Control over Saturation, Dynamics, and Decay

A 4th saturation band allows you to create lower midrange harmonics, giving you full control over the tone and sound of your low-end. Each of the low frequency bands also has control over dynamics, decay and drive.

Easy to Use and Intuitive GUI

Leapwing aims to build plugins that sound good from the moment you start using them, not having to waste precious creative time. Leapwing spent countless hours of R&D time to look at the best ways of visualizing all the bands so you can tweak everything intuitively.

About Leapwing Audio

Leapwing Audio loves analog and they love digital. Leapwing Audio also recognise that there are things you can’t do in the analog domain and understand that focus is key. You will not find us creating analog imitations. There are other companies that do this very well. The company want to solely focus on tools that use the strength of digital to shape and improve the sound.

DynOne – Dynamic Processor by Leapwing Audio

The Ultimate Smart Parallel Multi-band Dynamics Processor

Many multiband compressors take too much time to set up and tweak. DynOne 3 (Affiliate Link) has been redesigned with a beautiful resizable retina design that focuses on workflow. It also includes variable crossover filters, a unique weighting algorithm, and a proprietary Center-Side Mode. DynOne 3 (Affiliate Link) also uses min-max values for attack and release and applies variable timing values depending on whether the signal is transient in nature or not. You can simply blend in your compressed signal with the original.

Highest Quality XO Filters

Leapwing Audio’s crossover filters have been custom designed to interact with each other, in order to avoid phase alignment issues between bands, something you do have with traditional multi-band compressors. In DynOne 3 Leapwing Audio even made them variable so you can tweak them fully.

Adaptive Attack/Release Timing

Leapwing Audio felt that having a traditional attack and release times didn’t really give you the best sounding result. When you’re working with transients vs sustained sounds, you often want to have different attack and release times. This is why we use min and max attack/release times.

CenterOne – Stereo Width by Leapwing Audio

Adjust your phantom center signal without changing the panorama or spectral characteristics.

Feel like the vocal is just a tiny bit too loud, but don’t want to change any of the stereo spread. CenterOne (Affiliate Link) allows you to bring the phantom center in a stereo signal forward or backward without changing the positions of any panned signals.

  • Phantom Center Manipulation: Bring the phantom center signal in a stereo stream forward or push it back by up to 9dB without changing any of the panorama
  • Extract Left-Center-Right: Convert a stereo signal into an LCR stem in a unique bit-identical way
  • Simple yet Beautiful Design: Beautiful Retina interface with unique design, focused on the optimal workflow
  • Extremely Good Filters: The highest quality audio processing algorithms available

Center Prominence

Feel like the vocal is just a tiny bit too loud, but don’t want to change any of the stereo spread. CenterOne allows you to bring the phantom center of a stereo signal forward or backward without changing any of the panned signals.

Extract Center Channel from A Stereo Source

CenterOne (Affiliate Link) also gives you LCR plugin outputs so you can decide to put an effect on just the center extracted channel. Mixing LCR back together gives you a bit-identical copy of the original signal.

No MS-Technique

CenterOne’s “Center Prominence” algorithm analyses the precise location of the sound sources in the stereo signal for a careful processing of each bit of your audio, respectful of the original location of the sources. The alternative MS-technique that attempts to change the level of the M part of the signal, fails to achieve a good performance due to the inherent drawback of the lateral sources leaking into the M part of the signal split.

Leapwing StageOne Sale

Enhance the soundstage of your stereo mix, and even bring your mono recordings to life!

Need to open up a stereo mix, individual drums, piano, or guitars and make them wider without sounding phasey and keeping mono compatibility? Or add depth to dry recordings without changing the tone or timbre? Or turn a mono instrument recording into stereo, much bigger than ever before? It’s possible now!

Leapwing StageOne Sale
Leapwing StageOne Sale 88
  • Width: Width ‘stretches’ the stereo field, off-center content will move towards and beyond the speakers. Phantom center is left untouched, everything around it gets stretched or remapped to a wider stereo field.
  • Depth: Depth adds directionally optimised reflections to create an enhanced sense of depth in the sound field
  • Mono Spread: Mono spread utilises a unique filter design to convert a mono signal into a pseudo-stereo signal
  • Simple yet Beautiful Design: Beautiful Retina interface with unique design, focused on the optimal workflow

Leapwing StageOne Features

Width – When you have a stereo recording with too dense off-center panned sounds and you just want to spread it out to the side; a newly developed Width control algorithm allows you to remap the stereo field towards and beyond the speakers while keeping mono compatibility!

Depth – We developed directionally optimized reflection patterns that blend naturally with any type of signal. You can simply move up the Depth slider when you want to add a deeper perspective to your mix. It works well with any source that sounds flat and sticks to the speakers. You have to hear it to believe it.

Mono Spread – The magic behind mono spread is a unique filter design that turns a mono source into pseudo-stereo, so you can take a mono guitar, or even vocal and make them bigger while keeping perfect mono compatibility.
