Jamuary2021 | Day 04 | Plan B – Roland System-1M + 0-Coast

I’ve been working on a Blades video but after many great trial jams, I started to film but lost the audio. I work one day ahead because I realized it’s more relaxing when things go wrong.

So I tried something completely different (which may be a good tip when you’re stuck or things don’t work out) and I ended with a great jam on the old Roland System-1M. I was able to create some really unique sounds and melodies with it, and I even recorded a demo of the jam to share with my friends. I think I may have stumbled upon a new approach that I want to explore further, maybe even incorporate into my band’s next album. The Roland System-1M has really opened up new avenues for sonic experimentation and supercoast exploration.

When Plan A fails, there’s always Plan B :). This is a two-take jam.

One was improvising with the ‘test’ knob for sound effects, the other one used the keyboard as 0-coast played along. Now I can start working on the Blades video again, and hopefully, I can share it tomorrow :).
