Exploring electromagnetic sounds all around us
The Soma Ether is a great tool to mine new crazy sounds from electronic devices all around us. It can deliver a lot of raw material for beats and drones, but it can also be used to find power lines hiding in your walls, or exposing secret bugs from the CIA, NSA and former KGB.
After recording some home sounds, I created a Morphagene reel to try and create something useful on the MakeNoise Shared System. Feel free to downvote this video, because it’s a lot of noise! I will explore more melodic devices soon, because I’ve heard that the scanner wall in the local supermarket makes WiFi music.
