The Art of Making Good Choices

When you’re getting started with modular, it’s impossible to build the perfect system – and very easy to create a combo that doesn’t really work. So in this episode, I’ll make a few bad choices, and show you how every choice will affect the next one. So this video is not going to be perfect either, and it may raise even more questions than answers. The main challenge is to create a ‘system’ that ensures you’ll have a lot of fun for a long time while keeping the investments and rack dimensions down. I’ve been using a few simple rules for this series. I will not exceed a rack space of 84 HP.

Rule #1 – Choose modules that help you to make the music you love most.
Rule #2 – Every choice limits and affects the next one. It affects Rackspace, budget, and functionality.
Rule #3 – Think in systems instead of modules
Rule #4 – Your main oscillator defines the sonic character of your case
Rule #5 – You can spend a dollar only once.
