Let’s talk about why your trailer music track gets rejected. As an example, I will use my Two Steps from Hell track Collapsing Solar System from the album Chaos Theory. First and foremost, your trailer music track may get rejected if it doesn’t effectively capture and accentuate the emotion and energy of the visuals it’s meant to accompany. In the case of Collapsing Solar System, it was designed to evoke a sense of epic, apocalyptic grandeur, but you could tell that the trajectory and pacing were a bit off. Furthermore, the sound design and mixing could have been more dynamic to better match the ebb and flow of the visual narrative. Perhaps the use of horizon released for after effects could have helped enhance the overall impact and cohesiveness of the track.
