Boutique Drums Penny by Musical Sampling

Musical Sampling release Boutique Drums Penny! Inspired by rock drum mixes popularized in the 60’s and 70’s – Musical Sampling most versatile drum library to date.

Penny is the third release in Musical Sampling’s Boutique Drums Series and arguably the most vibey and versatile thus far. Musical Sampling initially sought to create a kit that paid homage to the tighter rock drum mixes popularized in the ’60s and ’70s. They covered the toms and snare with a cloth to dampen the decay/ring-out and incorporated some vintage mics used in that period alongside Musical Sampling modern array of microphones and gear.

Musical Sampling incorporated their repetition sampling techniques for realistic successive notes with the hi-hats and toms and six different hi-hat groove states that you can easily crossfade between for maximum expression.

Kit includes kick, snare, ghost snare rolls, cross sticks, rimshots, five hi-hat state multi-samples, six hi-hat state grooves, crossfade-able hi-hat grooves, hi-hat chicks, three toms, ride cymbal (with a crash), ride bell and two crash cymbals.
Repetition sampling for all hi-hat/toms multi-samples.
Live eighth-note hi-hat grooves recorded at 90/120/140 BPM that sync to your DAW’s tempo.
Crossfade-able hi-hat grooves (fades between six different hi-hat states; from tight to all-open).
Groove Speed control (Half/Normal/Double).
Adjustable humanization feature (Off/Tight/Natural/Loose).
Volume control for each drum group.
Assignable Kontakt outputs for each drum group.
Recorded in 48khz/24bit.
7.2 GB compressed NCW format.

The Black Speech

Atelier Series Fauxgorian is a delicious legato male vocal release designed for cinematic and electronic contexts. Produced by producer/composer Brad Jerkins, Fauxgorian’s initial aim was to produce a vocal legato library that was a bit more unconventional. We recorded three different vowels (ahh, mmm, ooo) and processed the recordings to achieve a unique, wide, quasi-Gregorian flavor that can suit a variety of modern settings. We also provided two natural solo legato patches (ooo, mmm).

Also included is Pagan Ritual – a brooding, deep, organic instrument that works great for heavy, amoebic basslines. Perpetuum – key-switch patch housing five presets of evolving vowel sustains processed with a bespoke array of hardware pedals. The Black Speech – a collection of processed whisper chants both solo and faux ensemble (try not to use these in a track at 3 AM).

Requires full retail version of Kontakt 5.8.1 or higher, the Free Kontakt Player is NOT supported.

What Is The Atelier Series?

Oftentimes during the research and experimental phase of development, Musical Sampling creates instruments that don’t necessarily belong to a bigger, themed release. Instead of attempting to shoehorn them into a future release or trying to construct a comprehensive product around it, Musical Sampling decided to create the Atelier Series so that other composers can enjoy their explorations in sample development as well.
