The sounds were inspired, more or less, by Boards of Canada. In general, the goal was to create nostalgic sounds that have character and feeling.

Included are extensive randomization controls. Each page can be randomized (Voices, Modulation, Effects, and Movement) or you can randomize individual voice selections.
Elixer and the ‘Motion’ engine was developed by Divergent Audio Group with Erick McNerney providing the wonderful sound design elements contained therein.

- Convolution Reverb
The randomize button will randomize all effects on the current page
Modulation
Dedicated modulation controls give you the ability to shape your sound just the way you want it. There are 4 LFOs and 4 Envelopes with 24 destinations to assign them to. The randomize button will randomize the modulation control for the current page.
Movement
The centerpiece of the instrument is the highly creative XY blend control.
This control allows you to blend the levels for each of the 4 voices. We also added a unique Movement control which allows you to automate the movement of the XY control in exciting new ways. You can make the blend control move vertically, horizontally or in a circular motion on the movement page.
This allows you to create sounds that blend exactly how you want them to, in sync with your project.
The movement can be smooth and gradual or instant and choppy so you can set up gradual texture changes or even rhythmic pulses with this simple to use control.
Movement Panel
The Movement panel blend control can be dragged with your mouse while the automation engine plays in real time or you can use the sliders along the edges for precise control. You can also assign midi cc or host automation parameters to the sliders to create complex movements and record the results in your DAW.

Erick from Beautiful Void Audio created a great collection of soundsources and what he did is the following:
“With the main sounds, I basically “deconstructed” a single pitch from a particular instrument, and sampled each frequency from its harmonic series. After that, I could then reconstruct various parts of that harmonic series from different instruments. For instance, with one of them, I combined a Flute, Harp, Piano and Tongue Drum. Tongue Drum took the fundamental, Harp took the octave, piano took the 5th above the octave, and then Flute took all of the top end (everything above the piano). So it’s a hybridization at a note/frequency level, rather than being a physically modeled hybrid or some algorithmic cross between 2 or more instruments – which I guess those could be argued to be more of a “true” hybrid.”
With this concept in mind, we created a Kontakt engine with 2 layers and a series of effects and created 165 snapshots (presets) for it. The style of the library is mellow, ambient, vintage, and even experimental and it contains a nice variety of sounds going from key-like instruments, to shimmering pads and textures, lo-fi and vintage sounds, and even a selection of arcade-like presets.

Paradox Lost Redux by Beautiful Void Audio – Strange, Beautiful, And Bizarre Soundscapes, Drones And Tones
Paradox Lost Redux – Strange, Beautiful, And Bizarre Soundscapes, Drones And Tones
Paradox Lost Redux is a complete overhaul of an earlier release, which was a collection of weird, strange, and dense soundscapes.
One of the things that Beautiful Void Audio wanted to address in with the initial release was that the sounds were not all that playable. They were rather fixed and static. Through reworking the original sound sources, and in many cases actually using the samples from the initial release as a source, Beautiful Void Audio created instruments that are much more playable, but still capture the strange and alluring vibe of the initial release. There is also a wider range of sounds.
Paul from Sound Aesthetics Sampling developed a really great engine which also allowed the sounds to be more playable (through random sample start, sample start off-set, and much more).

The full price is $20, but it’s 50% off for the next 10 days. Those who’ve purchased the Halflight Sampling Collection on Kontakthub should have received an email with an additional discount code (PARADOX50). This code only works if you’ve purchased the collection previously.
