Eventide Crystals – Iconic H3000 Effect with Out-of-this-World Pitch, Delay & Reverb

Eventide Crystals (Affiliate Link) combines twin reverse pitch shifters with reverse delays and reverb. This iconic H3000 Harmonizer® effect can be used to create out-of-this-world climbing and cascading pitched delays or to create unique sounding reverbs. It features two reverse granular delays that can be manipulated by length and pitch. Crystals excels at adding life to synths, guitar, and vocals making them sound huge and majestic. From sound design to other-worldly solos, Crystals will spark inspiration.

Crystals is a classic Eventide effect – twin reverse pitch changers, with independently adjustable delays and feedback with added reverb.

Crystals Features

Play the Ribbon

The innovative RIBBON control allows you to modulate many parameters at once. Manipulate the pitches to play it like an instrument or slowly increase feedback to make your signal explode into infinity. Need some extra gusto? Hold down the FLEX button to shift one octave up from the current pitch.

  • Two independently adjustable delays, up to 4 seconds each, with their own individual feedback
  • Reverb with 100 seconds of decay
  • Make it musical by micro-pitching each voice around the 4th (500 cents), 5th (700 cents), or octave (1200 cents)
  • Smooth out delay grains by applying up to 4 seconds of delay for each voice
  • RIBBON lets you ‘play’ the effect in real-time and provides dynamic and fluid control to morph back and forth between the settings of your choice
  • FLEX shifts both voices up one octave at the push of a button
  • MIXLOCK keeps MIX control constant as you audition presets
  • Available for Mac and PC as VST, AAX, and AU plug-in
  • Available as an Audio Units AUv3 plug-in, Inter-App Audio, and Standalone App

Eventide Crystals (Affiliate Link) is not a one-trick pony. The plug-in is also capable of huge sounding reverbs. Tweak the pitches a full octave down for a quick “drunk vocal” sound. Fit snares in the mix by pitch-shifting down an octave. Set really long delay times (up to 4 seconds per voice) with high feedback to use it as an ambient looper!

Crystals Hardware

Crystals is a classic Eventide effect – twin reverse pitch changers, with independently adjustable delays and feedback with added reverb. Coming from the All H9 algorithms and when used in hardware form requires an H9 stompbox to function. The question you should ask yourself is if it would make more sense to purchase a H9 Max made by Eventide. This stompbox includes many effects including the Crystals effect.

Eventide’s SplitEQ Equalizes the Playing Field

Published

on

SplitEQ 1080 4

Eventide is a company that never rests on its laurels and has always been at the forefront of music technology. They pride themselves on being innovators and so it’s no surprise to see them release something as innovative as SplitEQ, an equalization plug-in featuring their patented Structural Split Technology.

This new EQ goes beyond traditional equalizers by offering corrective rebalancing, enhancing, repairing, and widening any musical signal or another audio source with surgical precision.

Eventide's SplitEQ Equalizes the Playing Field 51

Eventide has released SplitEQ, a revolutionary equalization plug-in featuring our patented Structural Split technology. Innovations in sound design have come so far since we first created reverb units with specific effects for rock music back in 1968!

Eventide’s latest product takes this idea to new heights by providing an audio engine capable of modifying multiple bands at once—the same way musicians adjust their tone using instruments such as guitars or drums while playing live on stage -and then blends them together based upon what you want your final.

SplitEQ Features

  • World-class 8-band parametric EQ with precise musical filters
  • World-class 8-band parametric EQ with precise musical filters
  • Equalizes Transient and Tonal parts of a sound separately using Eventide’s patented Structural Split technology
  • Controls Transient and Tonal Output levels
  • Enhances the stereo field with continuous Transient and Tonal panning controls (L/R and Mid/Side modes)
  • An innovative real-time spectrum analyzer displays the Transient and Tonal streams independently
  • Controls for the underlying Split technology for fine-tuning and experimentation
  • Globally scales the EQ curves together or independently
  • Has Peak, Notch, Bandpass, High-Shelf, Low-Shelf, Tilt Shelf, High-Pass, and Low-Pass filter types with slopes from 6 to 96 dB/octave
  • Includes a comprehensive library with over 150 presets
  • A/B buttons allow quick auditioning of two presets or settings plus Undo/ Redo functionality
  • Graphical user interface with zoom options and can be re-sized

SplitEQ is a revolutionary new EQ that changes the way we think about Equalization.

Imagine taking an audio signal and cutting it into two separate copies, the left half for instruments or vocals with less emphasis on particular frequencies while the right side contains more extreme sounds without being too harsh on musicians’ ears!

This unique feature allows you to balance out different elements in your mix – something not possible before now even if there were multiple bands available within this type of software package due to its traditional design thinking where all filters are created equal despite having very specific uses depending upon what kind music production style one works towards at any given time

An international team of experts in audio engineering developed a new approach to corrective and creative rebalancing, enhancing, repairing, or widening any musical signal.

An Innovative EQ Plugin

SplitEQ is an innovative plugin for creative professionals who want to make their audio sound as good, if not better than they can play. It has eight bands of precise and musical filters that will help you get the most out of any mix with tons of tweakability!

Divide into Transients and Tones

Eventide has created a way to divide the audio into separate Transients and Tones that is unlike anything else on the market. They call it Structural Split Engine, which divides incoming sound for each band in half with powerful algorithms at different rates depending on where they are going to be used – making it easier than ever before!

This approach can instantly make EQ problems easy to solve even in a complex mix. It also opens up exciting new musical possibilities for the producer, which is why I recommend using this technique!

What Does Transients Mean in Music?

A transient is a type of sound that can be very intense and distracting. It usually has much more energy than the surrounding background noise, so it stands out from other sounds or average levels in music for example on drums when you want to add some excitement at particular points during your song where nothing else really seems exciting enough such as after hitting “a big” cymbal crash for instance; then another instrument might come into play with what we call “transient reinforcement.”

What Is a Transient Sound Design?

A transient sound design is usually a very brief and intense sound effect that might be used to grab the listener’s attention. It may not necessarily stand out as much as a loud musical instrument or addition of drum beat, but it gives an added level of excitement in music production nonetheless; especially if you create many different types of sounds like this throughout your song and want to keep the audience on their toes. Some examples of these sounds may be a gunshot, explosion or any other sound that is very intense and exciting for the listener.

Transients in music can come from many different sources such as drum kits too.

What Are Transient Signals?

A signal that has short-duration high amplitude deviations from the average amplitude is called a transient signal. It can be used in various fields of science and engineering but what we are here to talk about it how they relate to music production, so let’s keep going with that.

Transient signals typically result when an input changes abruptly. They may represent discontinuities or “spikes” on a waveform.

How Does SplitEQ Work?

SplitEQ takes the sound and complexity of a song into account with its intelligent algorithms. It splits any sound into two streams, mimicking human perception of its tonal and transient elements. This effect can be used in music or recording sessions to help bring more life into your work by creating new layers that weren’t there before!

You can cut or boost only that part of the sound on which you’re focused. For example, if a singer has a strong upper range but weak lower register tones-you may want to emphasize their beautiful tenor singing while cutting weaker bass notes so they don’t overpowering compete with it!

Creative Tool

SplitEQ is a creative tool that can be used to add dimension to mixes. It has independent left and right panning as well as mid-side options, making it possible for you to find your perfect sound

Split EQ isn’t just another corrective measure–it’s also an innovative type of audio enhancing device which provides alternative possibilities in terms of both musicality and creativity when using this particular piece of kit! You have the option between Left/Right or Mid /Side processing with fully customizable parameters so each track gets its own distinct flavor without being too reticent on detail

New Plugin Approach

SplitEQ is a revolutionary new eq plugin that makes your music sound like nothing else.

Split EQ lets you hear and see the spectrum analyzer in real-time as it shows what sounds are being produced by one’s headphones or speakers, giving them an entirely new perspective on how they listen/watch their favorite tunes!

Solo mode

You can use solo mode to listen only to the transients on a single band, but if you have multiple bands in your spectrum display it will be more useful for detecting stronger signals.

Meet the all new Kndle Family scaled

Soloing lets us take an individual snapshot of just one frequency range at once so that we may enjoy clearer reception when trying out new channels or tuning around with our favorite broadcast station’s signal strength indicator (that little bar graph).

Analyzer

The output tone of voice should be creative. Use this analyzer to track down problematic resonances or transients by displaying the tonal and transient streams separately, adding a new dimension to your troubleshooting toolkit!

SplitEQ is the perfect tool for any sound designer & mix engineer. Whether you’re working on individual tracks or a full mix, this innovative and powerful plug-in will allow your work to be more creative in terms of both music composition as well as sonic analysis.

TriceraChorus is an innovative pedal from Eventide that combines a rich Bucket Brigade-style chorus with MicroPitch detuning, stomping through the lush jungles of a lost period in time. This pairing produces crystal clear phasing and flanging tones like you would only hear on fossilized recordings found deep within Cretaceous Period earth!

The Swirl footswitch adds psychedelic Univibe style effects for plenty more sonic possibilities to explore without ever having to play around too much with knobs or confusing settings menus when there are so few buttons this guy has left after we finished counting teeth first thing out of necessity because let’s face it: most people

Deep Modulation & Dreamy Textures

TriceraChorus has three chorus voices: Left, Center, and Right, which can be detuned to add even more depth. A three-phase LFO modulates the delay times for these voices, producing a dazzling movement across the stereo field. The combination of the three modulated delays creates a huge wash of chorus reminiscent of that big, dreamy 80s sound.

  • Three independent chorus voices: Left, Center and Right
  • Three chorus types: Chorus, Vibrato, Chorale for a wide array of tonal possibilities
  • Dedicated “Swirl” footswitch capable of generating psychedelic flanging, phasing and Univibe-style tones
  • Five presets loaded at your feet with dozens more available with Eventide Device Manager (EDM) software
  • Dual-action Active Footswitch is latching or momentary.
  • Rear panel Guitar/Line Level switch for matching levels with guitar, synths, FX loop or DAW interface
  • Map any combination of parameters to an expression pedal.
  • Use a single aux switch to tap Rate or a triple aux switch for easy preset changing (up/down/load).
  • MIDI capability over TRS (with MIDI to TRS cable or converter box) or USB (with MIDI-host controllers)
  • Multiple Bypass options: Buffered, Relay, DSP+FX or Kill dry
  • Catch-up mode helps dial in your sound when toggling between presets/parameters.
  • Eventide Device Manager PC or Mac application for software updates, system settings and creating/saving presets

A Trifecta of Tone

TriceraChorus is a three-in-one monster of sound. With its arsenal of effects, it’s no wonder why this pedal has been called “the perfect chorus.

In “chorus” mode you get lush and heavenly choruses inspired by classic rackmount units like the Tri-Chorus effect for rich analog depth with just enough movement; when set to oral Mode instead that same powerful tone gets more complex adding warbly qualities which can be customized per your needs through tweaking knobs on each side (including detune). The vibrato setting produces an even better alternative type derived Ripple™ – especially if combined with Swirl
