Throughout our time recording sounds in Malta, we’ve been blown away by the history and architecture. If you’ve visited the island then you know what we mean! Just yesterday, we explored the forgotten tunnels and headquarters for WWII and the Cold War. It’s hard to put into words, it’s just something you have to experience.
Making sonar sounds with field recordings. In this video we take you around Malta and record sounds in different areas of the island. Then we’ll go back home and use these sounds to design an “old sonar sound!” After recording the sounds in Malta, we also traveled to the coast to record ocean sounds which we will incorporate into our sonar design. By blending these various field recordings, we aim to create a unique and immersive sonar experience that captures the essence of the environment where the sounds were originally recorded. We are excited to see how the combination of these diverse audio elements will come together to produce the final sonar sound.
