CONTROL PACK by NOISS COKO – Control Pack FREE UNTIL 29th APRIL

The Control Pack is a collection of three MaxforLive Devices designed by NOISS COKO, developer of the Modulation Pack.

Control Pack consists of three MaxforLive Devices, CC Manager, CC Random and Random (The Audio Device Version of CC Random) this pack is designed to bring new level of control and randomisation over External Instruments and Ableton Live Parameters.

CC MANAGER

CC Manager is a convenient MIDI effect, able of transmitting up to eighteen MIDI Control Change messages, mainly used as a modulation source for external devices such as synthesizers, drum machines, samplers, and any other instrument that allows remote control through Control Change, Program Change or Pitch Bend messages.

Equally useful for both live and studio performance, this device offers an alternative interface for situations where multiple parameters from one or more instruments require simultaneous modulation; when these changes must be extremely precise; or if they are just too complex to be played by hand. For all these scenarios CC Manager presents a different solution, allowing the automation of each parameter using clips inside Live.

Besides the main uses described above, CC Manager works also as a bridge between Live and other programs, since MIDI Control Change messages could be sent outside Live in order to control another audio or video software. An essential part of the Control Pack!

CC RANDOM

CC Random is a simple but versatile MIDI effect that offers a new and different approach to randomness. It generates patterns from a limited group of values, used to produce real time modulations over external devices or any parameter inside Live. From a maximum of eight possible values to choose from, CC Random creates aleatory combinations depending on a set of parameters that add more or less variations to the sequence.

Do you know what a MIDI Control Change message is? This specific type of message is used by CC Random to remotely control parameters from other instruments and effects. Most of the time this is referred to external devices, but in some cases it could be applied over parameters from instruments inside Live. For every case it’s recommended to read the user manual from the specific device you are trying to control, in order to know what Control Change number is assigned to each single parameter.

RANDOM

The final device in the Control Pack is Random (the audio effect version of CC Random), a simple but versatile device that offers a new and different approach to randomness. It generates patterns from a limited group of values, used to produce real time modulations over any parameter inside Live. From a maximum of eight possible values to choose from, Random creates aleatory combinations depending on a set of parameters that add more or less variations to the sequence.

Free Maze by NOISS COKO For Ableton Live

Maze is a simple Max for Live looping device, inspired by the Time Lag Accumulator system developed by electronic music composer Terry Riley.

Known as one of the earliest live recording technics, it is constructed around a short tape loop and two reel to reel tape machines.

The first records the sound while the other plays it back shortly after, thus creating an endless feedback loop.

The same approach was also adopted by many other musicians throughout the years, with Brian Eno and Robert Fripp probably being one of the most popular examples of all.

Repeat Pro Version v1.2
Repeat Pro 1.2 & Sempler Pro 1.2 - UPDATES Available for Download 59

Repeat is a Max for Live MIDI effect, designed to easily program rhythmic and melodic patterns step by step, then played by synthesizers, samplers and other instruments, both inside and outside Live. The whole device is exclusively driven by a sixteen step sequencer, which among other parameters allows to set a different note, velocity, length, octave, control and delay amount for every single step.

Sempler Pro Version v1.2

  • Fixed interface problems when using Push 2 as a control surface and more than one copy of Sempler.
  • Delete button is now enabled when using Push 2 as a control surface.
  • Changed FM and Delay Arrows design.
Sempler Pro Version v1.2
Repeat Pro 1.2 & Sempler Pro 1.2 - UPDATES Available for Download 60

Sempler PRO is a polyphonic sample playback instrument, designed to create complex patterns by performing simple actions. The whole device is exclusively driven by its integrated sequencer, which among other parameters allows to set a different starting point, size, pitch, level and delay amount for every single step. Each configuration will then produce a continuous stream of fragments, played one after the other to generate a unique arrangement that results from the combination of these little pieces and bits of audio.

The MOVERS from NOISS COKOThe Movers Product Background

NOISS COKO by The MOVERS

The Movers highlights four joined Max for Live devices, created as government tools for both Live and external parameters. Append expression by efficiently targeting single parameters inside your Live set, or give these modulation sources any of the available MIDI message formats and take control over other external instruments.

Functions

Functions is a versatile control device, designed as a dynamic modulation source for both Live and external parameters. Integrated by two editable waveforms, it could be played both as a classic LFO, or a complex envelope, being triggered by incoming MIDI notes.

These modulation sources are distributed at will between five output layers, each assigned either by individual Map buttons or by sending out any of the available MIDI message formats: Control Change, Pitch Bend, Modulation Wheel, Foot Control or Aftertouch.

The audio effect version of Functions works almost exactly the same, with the only difference being that it cannot be triggered by MIDI notes nor sent MIDI control information. Instead, both sources could be applied over the audio input signal, offering different ways to modulate its amplitude level and panning position.

Part of Repeat’s magic resides on the uncertainty factor that surrounds its behavior and defines the state of its most important parameters. These random functions make it very easy to create melodic lines and patterns with only the need of a few simple operations.

An extra set of parameters reflect other global aspects of this device and help to shape each pattern even further. These control the sequence length, speed and direction, and the specific scale that gets ultimately played.

Ministeps

Ministeps is a simple and useful control device, also designed as a modulation source for both Live and external parameters. Control values coming from the three integrated sequencers are distributed at will between five output layers, each assigned either by individual Map buttons or by sending out any of the available MIDI message formats: Control Change, Pitch Bend, Modulation Wheel, Foot Control or Aftertouch.

Ministeps is composed by a pair of devices, where depending on each case, either the MIDI or the audio version of this effect could be more useful than the other. Nonetheless, both alternatives present the same characteristics, with the only exception being that no MIDI options are included on the Ministeps audio effect.

About Noiss Coko

Formally set up in 2016 and currently based in Barcelona, NOISS COKO is a flourishing brand of music production software, mostly dedicated to the development and design of fine Max for Live devices for Ableton Live users. With a strong emphasis on the integration of an intuitive and clear user interface, the main goal behind its products has always been the introduction of instruments and tools that would enhance the experience of making music and working with sound, extending this beyond the given possibilities of Ableton Live.  Shortly after its first release came out, the project joined in as an active part of our collective and has published various products in collaboration with us ever since. However, early ideas and prototypes started off many years before that and were followed by a long process of research and experimentation around the field of electronic music production. All this experience accumulated throughout that time, ultimately gave birth to the first group of devices that later became part of both the Modulation Pack and the Control Pack. Besides all the products that are now available exclusively within our web store, NOISS COKO continuous to work on forthcoming projects and new devices to be released in the near future.
