Matt felt it was high time there was a follow-up release to Firebird (See also RePro-1 Firebird Review – a Cinematic Iconic Monosynths Collection by The Unfinished).

Substrata is a soundset of 150 patches (plus 25 bonus patches!) for u-he’s RePro-1. It’s full of drama and dynamism, grit and glory; taking advantage of RePro-1’s glorious analog-modeling, with a focus on low end and sequences. There is a myriad of driving basslines, infectious sequences, pulsing drum loops, and punishing basses, with a handful of eclectic synths and tense pad scapes thrown in for good measure. All the sounds ripple with punch, warmth, and atmosphere.
Substrata is inspired by the big, cinematic sound of composers like Tyler Bates, Lorne Balfe, and Brian Tyler, as well as electronic artists such as The Prodigy, Hybrid, and Orbital, this soundset brings a plethora of both subtle and angry sonic weaponry.
Alongside the original 150 patches are 25 bonus presets made whilst I was writing my two demo tracks.
