Hybrid Synthesizer Falcon 2.5
Falcon is a French-made Hybrid Synthesizer from UVI that aims to be a “Hybrid Synthesizer.” The most recent free 2.5 upgrade adds a significant number of new effects, sequencers, and presets.
UVI refers to the Falcon as a “Hybrid Synthesizer.” It is also capable of comprehensive sampling possibilities in addition to its sophisticated synthesis features.
Falcon Included Content
Falcon also includes a free, full-featured factory soundbank for the synthesizer, with 1,200 patches. Falcon is more than just a synth preset browser. The synth itself takes up about 600 MB of hard drive space, while the expansion is just over 1 GB. Several Falcon expansions are also available which offer access to more style-specific presets.
Over 100 new presets are included in the Falcon 2.5 upgrade. The sound is excellent, and it has a tendency to the squeaky side of things. Some of the tonal highlights in this pack will include the VCF-20 patches with their dense many sound layers.
Sound Manipulation and Midi Effects
The sound manipulation that is possible with Falcon depends on the type of sound being processed. The manipulation of any sound – whether it’s done using analog synthesis, various effects, sampling methods like pitch-shifting, granular synthesis, or even sample slicing – is feasible. It also includes an advanced programming language that may be used to modify MIDI events.
Falcon UI – Forget Kontakt
The Falcon interface, unlike many rivals with its simple visuals and dark undertones, may appear daunting at first. It’s crucial to grasp the software’s patch organization, which is somewhat more comparable to a sampler than a typical synth. There is a lot of customization available in what the interface can display.
Falcon Sequencers
for the Review of Falcon 2.5 by UVI we used the Falcon 2.5 (Falcon 2.5.3) upgrade also includes a slew of intriguing new sequencers. These sequences might be particularly useful to media composers who want to add interest and movement to their sounds, especially with the new MIDI record function.
Cartesian Sequencer
Cartesian Sequencer is a new addition in the Falcon that can generate complex, evolving sounds.
It is similar to other step sequencers but with more control over each individual note. Users are able to set the duration, velocity, and gate for each step. There is also a new Euclidean Sequencer which is great for creating organic-sounding rhythms.
The Cartesian sequencer enables us to construct intricate phrases at various speeds and rates. There are several choices, such as changing the number of subdivisions and quantizing to specific scales.
Euclidian Keys
Euclidian Keys is an innovative new way to create organic rhythms. It generates patterns based on points in a Euclidean space, which results in very organic and flowing rhythms. There are many options for customization, such as the number of steps, the length of each step, and the number of voices.
Euclidean keys is a great way to quickly create complex rhythms without having to tediously program them. It’s perfect for adding life and movement to static sequences.
The Euclidian Keys sequencer allows for some fascinating polyrhythms and grooves. Each note in the sequence is assigned a number, which will be played to each of these notes with its own distinct Euclidian rhythm. Of course, you can alter the accent, ratio, offset, and other variables.
Wave Sequencer
The Wave Sequencer is a powerful new tool for sound design. It allows us to create waveforms by drawing them in, and then play them back with various controls over the playback.
We can also save our waveforms as presets for later use. This sequencer is perfect for creating unique sounds and textures. The Wave Sequencer is one of my favorite new additions in Falcon.
The Wave Sequencer is a great way to quickly create custom waveforms for use in your sounds. It’s easy to use and offers a lot of flexibility for shaping your sounds. With its simple interface, it’s perfect for anyone looking to add some extra texture and life to their music.
The Wave sequencer is an extremely inspiring sequencer. This gadget allows us to make bouncy rhythms that play with the stereo field’s spread. Notes are then played in various rhythmic patterns, from left to right. The Wave sequencer is another entertaining method to create fascinating polyrhythms.
Rain Sequencer
The Rain Sequencer is a unique new way to add atmosphere and movement to your sounds. It works by adding randomized modulation to each parameter of the sound. This can create some really interesting results, from subtle rain-like effects to more intense stormy sounds.
The Rain sequencer is a unique feature that you may find useful. It has sequences assigned to various keys on the keyboard.
Playback is continuous, but the melody and accompaniment are not. Play notes at a variety of speeds, velocities, and pans. The Rain sequencer works particularly well with plucked sounds and keyboard patches.
Conclusion
The Falcon 2.5 update includes a slew of new and interesting sequencers, which can be particularly useful to media composers. The Cartesian Sequencer is great for creating intricate phrases at various speeds and rates, while the Euclidian Keys sequencer allows for some fascinating polyrhythms and grooves.
The Wave Sequencer is perfect for creating unique sounds and textures, and the Rain Sequencer is a great way to add atmosphere and movement to your sounds.
