The Extended TR-909
XT-909 provides all the sounds and character from the legendary Roland TR-909 (Rev. 1), the drum machine that would pave the way for house, techno, dance, and many following genres. On top of reproducing the sound of the original, you’ll find added sound-shaping possibilities, wider parameter ranges, MIDI- and host automation. XT-909 also comes with an extended sound collection, including multi-sampled Lo-Fi hi-hats and percussion instruments plus some characteristic effect sounds from our modular system. Altogether, this makes the XT-909 a more flexible and expressive instrument than the original.
Based on the first revision of the legendary Roland TR-909, Beaotic XT-909 faithfully reproduces the sound of the original while adding a bunch of new sounds, extra features and sonic capabilities.
In addition to all the classic 909-sounds that you know and love, we’ve recorded a collection of hi-hat/percussion instruments and processed them in our Ensoniq Mirage sampler for true low 8-bit fidelity. We’ve also added electronic effect sounds from our analog modular synth to spice up your beats.
The XT-909 is not a one-to-one clone of the TR-909. Obviously it does not have a built in sequencer like the original. But the XT-909 offers more controls, wider parameter range, more sounds and modern features such as automation, altogether making it a more versatile and in many ways a much more expressive instrument.
The free LinnDrum
The LinnDrum “LM-2” has been used on countless productions since the early eighties. Now you can get these classic sounds in a fully functional Beaotic kit – for free! All the sounds have been sampled in pristine sound quality with round-robin and authentic pitch manipulation. LMFree has pretty much the same features as any other Beaotic kit, making it more flexible and expressive than the original LinnDrum. And yes, as the name suggests, the LMFree is available at no cost!
Note that both kits require the full version of Native Instruments Kontakt sampler (v. 4.2 or higher).
